Lighthouse 01:22
I watched the sun rise and fall to the sea. Too tired to sing or talk but too drunk to give a fuck.
2.
Should we tell those drunken sailors that their wives have lost their faith and they’re doomed to spend a life at sea, in turn blessed in the same way? But the water tastes like blood and sweat, so we’ll live off shots of watered down whiskey and pray that the world isn’t close behind. And the world is so damn close behind. Should we tell those homesick soldiers that their eyes have all been glazed, and they’re doomed to live like war machines at the hands of a bitter saint? And the world is so damn close behind.
3.
Well I have lost my sight, unable to find what used to be right. These eyes have been dead for quite some time, but I’m ready for a new life to leave me blind. And I have held nothing back; I’ve lost too much to be afraid to ask. Please find me a light and some undying truth that keeps you afraid of what you’ll do. And now that the world is ending, I say we go out with a little style. Now that there ain’t no life to fight for, I say we get lost for a little while. Now that the gods have died, and left this world behind, lying in your hands, to be dealt with at your command. You will account for their shame, for those who have died will have you to blame. I’ll be gone before your mind starts to change, but I’ll be back with a new face and a new name. And now that the world is ending, I say we go out with a little style. Now that there ain’t no life to fight for, I say we get lost for a little while. Now that the world is ending, we’re all singing, "La Da, Da Da Da."
4.
We’ll wish it all back to the start, when the fallen don’t fall so far. And the view from the top is the one that distorts who you are. And the sea has drawn close to the shore. And my friends aren’t my friends like before. And I’ve found my new drug and I’ve found my new love, so the past is left dead at the door. I wish myself down to get picked back up. And sure I’ve grown older before. But the years start to blur even more. And each day I lose touch as the sting of the crutch grows familiar and comfortable. So I’ll drink till my face hits the floor. But even then I’ll go back there for more. I can’t get it enough, and I’ve lost my old crutch, and I’ll fall further than ever before. I wish myself down to get picked back up.
5.
My overplayed charm has drawn close to your heart, but its edges are fatally worn. And this love we have found starts to sink to the sound of a song we have known from the start. But you stay far from the shores. And you, you live through the lust of your heart. What a chivalrous race as he’s taken my place, and I inch my way back to the start. Just to find you again, being cloaked as a friend, who is cheering me back to the end. And they’ll dance and they’ll sing in the streets. And they’ll pray that this ticker tape parade never ends. Let’s pray it never ends. Come on boys; let’s make sure this never ends. I’ve been wasting away the best of my days on my bedside playing guitar. Strumming and singing and smoking and drinking until the sun catches up with the stars. But you stay far from the shores. And you, you live through the lust. So take my silver tongue and erase the lining built from your world and mine. Cut it off at the base when it starts to show you your fears. Hide your face in a place that shelters you from your tears. My mouth has refused to sing the same tune while my heart thinks I’ll sing it all wrong. But when everything’s done and the choirs all gone, I’ll have remembered the words to this song.

Diggin' 06:13
My heart has got too much to give, and too much to take. In her heart she’s got so long to live and so long to hate. I saw as the sky was littered with bruises and gold, but we’ll watch as a new and better day will come. And I’ll drink with the devil, and repent to the saints, and I’ll try to stay conscious through all my mistakes. My mind has developed a routine from all the drugs that I take. And her eyes and too tired to sleep, she’s too fucked up to see. I saw as her conscience was drowning in rum and cocaine, and she’ll sink to the bottom and wither with age. And she’ll dance with the devil, and ignore all her saints, and she’ll cling to the bottom, another victim of faith. I’m diggin', I’m diggin' up my grave, got dirt on my hands now.

I saw the end of the world, walked to the edge of that line, buried my head in the sand, and waited for the time when you would save my life. And you won’t know me by my name. But that which kills me keeps me sane. I know it’s not my place to tell you who to love, but I wish it was. I saw you spread your disease all over this town, infecting those who don’t know, and killing everyone else. Now you must be put down by no one but myself. And you won’t know me by my name. But that which kills me keeps me sane. I know it’s not my place totell you who to love, but I wish it was

Winter turns me into stone. Let the cold air mend my broken bones. And you, well you know where I go when it gets cold. You know where I go when it gets cold. Bright lights guide me far from home. In the middle seat over Tokyo, I know it’s not the time to be crying out for home, but I’m not living a lie, and I’ve been running for way, way, way, way, way too long. We’re all just a bunch of animals left out in the cold for far too long. We’re all just a bunch of vampires left out in the sun for far too long.

The Blues 04:58
Pack up your dress, and head out of town. Give your conscience a name, and take the greyhound to Texas. You’ll find me there wasting away, still happy with the words that I sing. And I love you so, and I’ll love growing old, I’m still happy with the life that you saved. So talk to me, sing me that lullaby song. I need your love right now to chase away the blues. I write with my mind in a vacant lot. With clear consciousness aside, I still wait for your bus to arrive. Cause’ I still feel found, but I hate hanging ‘round for my love to head back to town. So talk to me, sing me that lullaby song. I need your love right now to chase away the blues.

Hometown 05:02
If this ocean of old pavement will lead me back to my home, to the sidewalks and buildings and places I know, I’ll walk every forked road through hard rain and snow with the idea of placement and peace in my home. Take me home. Well I will come and guide your soul and carry your heart back home. If my feet have formed a pattern, from the path I shall stray, to the back roads I’ll travel and find my own way. They’ll pave every dirt road, erase home from hometown. A dull concept of culture, I’ve lost my home. Take me home. Well I will come and guide your soul and carry your heart back home.

We’ll thank god for yesterday. There’s no tomorrow in a town with a life so far away. We’ve no morals in the night, mothers sons have gone to hell to stay, until morning comes along and we start yet another charade. We’ll thank god for yesterday.

Part Ways 03:11
One more step, I’ll get in the car. One more call, she’ll file a restraint. One more wink means a slap in the face. We’ll part ways. One more cause for a civil dispute. Have your skin dipped in gold, there’s no way you can lose, except I’m way too cheap to follow that route. So I’m left with a gap in my mouth. Goodbye to this town. I’ll go down, down to face the devil and hope my sins will be lifted from me. We’ll part ways. My cleansed soul for a girl that stays true. A couple pills and whiskey for truth. I’d trade it all for myself to get fixed on somebody else. We’ll part ways.
